Under the Sea

Our planet is awesome. The oceans are bursting with wonderful life.

How many fishes do you know? How many can you imagine? This week we will help you to recreate a section of this wonderful marine life just out of a cereal box. There will be colourful fishes, corals and sea shells. . . You can keep it in your bedroom and all the time you will look at it, you can be reminded of how awesome and extraordinary life can be.

How to make your under the sea box

  • Take a cereal box.
  • Cut (you can ask a grown-up to help you) a rectangle out of the front of the box, about 3 cm (1 in) from the edges, to make a window frame.
  • Paint in blue all the internal surfaces of the box.
  • If you are using the fun sheets, decide which fish and corals you’d like to include in your ‘under the sea box’. Colour them and cut them out. Alternatively, draw your own sea creatures and colour them using your imagination.
  • Hang the fish from the top of the box by fixing one end of thread to the fish and one to the top of the box.
  • Fix the corals and sea-shell to the back of the box with glue.

Tips

  • You might want to colour both side of the fishes as they tend to turn around when they are hanging.

How awesome is your ocean?
