SESNING SPACE is a safe enviroment for children and their families. Our subscribers should be confident that their physical and emotional well being, as well as their privacy and security, will not be compromised.

Small Groups

The number of children for each session is limited so to provide more personalised, intimate and enjoyable experiences.

High Quality Content

Our Online sessions have been crafted in collaboration with a pedagogic expert and teacher with 30 years experience and a professional child therapist in Oxford.

Safe Platform

We have safe measure in place to safeguard children. Online sessions are password protected and recorded.

Safe Platform - Safeguarding

- SENSING SPACE staff have appropriate training and instructions on safeguarding best practice
- SENSING SPACE staff in contact with young people have appropriate DBS/PVG checks and recruited responsibly
- SENSING SPACE provide a safe physical and virtual environment for all children, young people, staff and volunteers, by applying health and safety measures in accordance with the law and regulatory guidance
- SENSING SPACE are only open to children ages 6-11 (no adults!)
- Online sessions are provided by Zoom. All Zoom meetings are password protected. The password is unique to each of the subscribers. The Password will be sent via email after enrolment and payment.
- To confirm that only children are enrolled in our classes, we require that each child either the session with the video enabled, or connect by video at least once at the beginning of the class. This allows SESNING SPACE Admin to confirm that the partecipant is in fact a child. With that confirmation the children may then elect to participate with the camera disabled. We understand, however, that not all families have video access for such confirmation, or may not want to enable video for a myriad of reasons. We have therefore an alternative Child Learner Verification process. Simply email info@sensingspace.net with any question you might have about it. This process can take up to a week, so please email us well in advance of your class.
- Online sessions are customized to give control to SENSING SPACE Admin (not children or their guardians) over who enters the online sessions, as well as basic functions like screen sharing and audio/video, which allows Sensing Space Admin to take swift action in the event of any issue arising.
- SENSING SPACE makes recordings of all live sessions for safety and quality assurance
- Our safeguarding procedures will be used to share concerns and relevant information with agencies "who need to know", involving children, young people, parents, families and carers appropriately

How to help children before and during the Online Session

- Make sure the children join the online sessions on time
- Help children to understand the basic features of Zoom, which will allow them to engage respectfully in class without distracting other learners
- Supervise the children (from a comfortable distance ) while they attend the online sessions, until you’re confident they can participate safely and respectfully on their own. For older children, this may take just a few minutes. For younger learners, or those with behavioral challenges, you may need to be nearby more or the whole time
- Make sure the children connect at least once with video enabled to allow the SENSING SPACE Admin to confirm their identity. This can be a quick check-in at the beginning of the first class meeting, and is required to promote classroom safety
- We encourage learners to enable their audio/video during the rest of class to create a more social experience for all learners, but it’s not required

You will need to install an app called Zoom (link below). Your learner will use Zoom to connect to the live class on Outschool. Downloading the app is super easy and takes about 10 seconds. You don’t need to set up a personal Zoom account to access Outschool classes, so you can stop when you get to the sign-up screen.
