My Big Heart Map and Door

Now more than ever it is important that we create spaces for children to express feelings and emotions. This week’s activity will allow children to “open” their hearts and focus on what’s inside.

My Big Heart Map

“My Big Heart Map” offers children a possibility to recognise what’s in their hearts and connect with it. What is a heart map? A heart map is a visual map with drawing or writing that expresses what’s stored in your heart. There is no right or wrong way to create a heart map; it can include:

  • feelings
  • loved people, animal or places
  • memories
  • experiences
  • things owned or not
  • moments
  • question

How to play

  • A pencil or a pen, some colour pencils or colour pens, a scissor and some glue
  • A print of the fun sheets

Door to "My Big Heart"

What is in your child’s heart is hidden inside them, unless they make it available. How? By opening the door to their heart ! This door protects the things most precious. This is a chance for your child to design a “door’ and use it in conjunction with “My Big Heart Map”.  Let your child’s imagination construct that special door to the treasures in their heart.
